About The Prep Lab
The Prep Lab exists because "unlimited questions" and "a good question bank" are not the same thing. A lot of what's out there is unvetted — written fast, written cheap, and never checked against what the actual test rewards. I built the opposite: smaller, sharper, and mapped to the real skills that move scores.

background
I've spent 7.5+ years tutoring SAT and ACT prep, with 100–200+ point SAT score improvements to show for it. Before that, my background is as a published research scientist — which is exactly why the quality of the content in most prep platforms drives me a little crazy.
When I looked at the other prep platforms — you know the one I'm talking about — the AI was impressive but the actual content behind it was thin. Questions written fast, never vetted, never checked against what the test actually rewards. Students were grinding volume and calling it prep.
So I built The Prep Lab the way I build score improvements with real students: every question mapped to a real SAT/ACT domain and skill, every explanation written the way I'd explain it 1:1, and analytics that tell you what's actually working — not just how many questions you answered.
A bigger question bank doesn't mean a better one. I build fewer questions on purpose — each one mapped to a real SAT/ACT domain and skill, and checked against what the test actually rewards.
Every question is constructed the way I've built score improvements with real students for 7+ years — not scraped, not guessed, and not dressed up with a chatbot.
The Prep Lab is self-guided practice and analytics. But it's designed by someone who's spent thousands of hours sitting next to real students taking this test.
Where students have landed
Students I've coached 1:1 have gone on to Michigan Honors, Wash U, Boston College, Case Western, and more. The Prep Lab is the self-guided version of that same approach — built by the same person, not an anonymous contractor.
No. The Prep Lab is self-guided practice and analytics you use on your own. If you want a coach in your corner every week, that's a separate service — and current 1:1 tutoring clients already get portal access included. The strategy course inside The Prep Lab isn't live yet — the hope is to have it live by late 2026. When it launches, it'll cover how I approach each question type, distilled into video; it's not the full comprehensive 1:1 curriculum, and it'll keep growing over time.
